I'm 99.999999% sure that I want an abstract painting for the living room. Something with pinks, blues, greens, creams, whites....and around 36"x 36". The price tag will be hefty, but it's definitely a splurge I'm will to make because it will be 1- the focal point of the room and 2- the jumping off point for all other accessories and decor. Kinda like a huge deal. So I'm taking my time, trying to find "the" painting that will do the job. Every now and then I consider giving it a go and trying to make my own and you know, I may just do that (even though I've never painted anything!) but I dunno. We'll see.

Why don't you try and get the kids to do something... grab a HUGE canvas from Michael's (coupons can be found on flyerland.ca) and have them give it a try?!
